Business Storytelling Podcasts

PODCASTING: I produce three podcast series: one for leadership, one for parenting, and one for sales. Each podcast is based largely on the theme and content of my books. I record one new episode per week and rotate through all three podcasts in a three-week cycle. Generally, episodes contain a story from one of my books. However, other times I host guest authors and experts. From there, I interview them about their area of expertise. But in all cases, the format of the show is that either I or the guest shares a single, meaningful story at the beginning of the show. Then, we discuss the meaning and wisdom we can glean from that one story. Each series is described below with links to take you to the individual episodes. You can subscribe to all three iTunes, Stitcher, or Podbean.

Lead with a Story Podcast Series: Lessons in Leadership, one story at a time

The first podcast is the Lead With a Story Podcast Series. To start, I base this podcast on interviews with 100+ executives and leaders at dozens of successful companies around the world. Ultimately, we talk about how they learned their most important leadership lessons – sometimes the hard way. Featuring stories from executives at Procter & Gamble, Dollar General, Hewlett Packard, Kellogg’s, Dun & Bradstreet, Saatchi & Saatchi, Verizon, and many more. Each episode brings you an important lesson through a single compelling story. Click to subscribe on iTunes, Stitcher, or Podbean.

Parenting with a Story Podcast Series: Real-life lessons in character for parents and children to share

The second podcast is the Parenting With a Story Podcast Series. To start, I base this podcast on interviews with over 100 people from 25 countries around the world. Overall, we reflect on their most profound and unexpected moments of clarity. These topics include ambition, open-mindedness, creativity, curiosity & learning, courage, and integrity. Additionally, some more of the topics include self-reliance, grit, hard work, self-confidence, money & delayed gratification, health, and a positive mental attitude. Sell with a Story Podcast Series: Sales Expert Interviews and the 25 Sales Stories You Need

The third set is the Sell With a Story Podcast Series. This podcast helps you use the art and science of storytelling to help you more effectively perform your sales role. These companies include Microsoft, Costco, Xerox, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hewlett Packard, Kroger, Cushman & Wakefield, Huntington Bank, Ghirardelli Chocolates, Amway, and Children’s Hospital. However, on other episodes I’ll have guest authors and experts in the sales field, including bestselling sales authors like Mike Weinberg, Anthony Ianarrino, Mark Hunter, and Jeb Blount. 1. I had to make 10 cold calls when I first got a sales job at a car dealership. So I told a story when I called , I introduced myself as Brother Bob and I’m calling you about our “fire sale” there would be silence and then the person would say you mean your cars caught fire. Oh no my boss told me if we don’t sell something before the end of the month I would be FIRED!
